2026 Municipal Election Free Candidate Information Session

Have you thought about running for municipal Council or as a school board trustee, but aren’t sure what the role really involves? Before making a decision, get a clear and realistic understanding of what serving as an elected official truly means an upcoming Candidate sessions.

Hosted in partnership by the County of Lennox and Addington, the Township of Addington Highlands, the Township of Stone Mills, Loyalist Township, and the Town of Greater Napanee, this free session presented by the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing (MMAH) will provide potential candidates with an overview of the Municipal Elections Act, campaign rules and election finances, key dates and outlines various roles/responsibilities of elected officials and municipal staff. This session will be provided in person.

Community members interested in local government
Board or committee members thinking about elected office
