Roads

The Public Works Department manages the Township's transportation network connecting the many hamlets and backcountry that comprise the Township of Stone Mills. 

Reporting an Issue to our Public Works Department:
For questions or concerns about roads that occur within or outside of regular business hours, please contact the Roads Department at 613-378-1435.

Construction

The Township is responsible for administering all construction activities on Township roads.
The County is responsible for administering all construction on County Roads.

This may include engaging an engineering consultant.

Q - My road is really rough what can be done?

A - Please contact the roads department and they can review our grading schedule with you. 

 

Q - The snowplow still hasn’t come down my road when is it coming?

A - The townships primary roads and the county roads are done first and all secondary and sideroads after that. To find out where your road is in the schedule please contact the roads office at 613-378-2475

 

Q - Its afterhours and there is a tree across the road who do I contact?

A - Our roads line is forwarded to a supervisor for emergency after hours calls. Please call 613-378-1435.  If you do not receive an immediate answer please leave a message and the on call supervisor will return your call as soon as they are able to.

The Township of Stone Mills has partnered with the County of Lennox & Addington in providing up to date information on any road conditions through the County.

Asset Management Plan

The assets of the Public Works Department which includes the roads, equipment, buildings and other assets are included in the 2016 Asset Management Plan.

All Terrain Vehicles (ATV's)

ATV's may be operated on any road which is owned by the Township subject to the controls found in Bylaw 2015-801 being a bylaw which regulates ATVs.
