PUBLIC NOTICE — EXPRESSION OF INTEREST

The Township of Stone Mills is inviting expressions of interest from the public for the former Flynn Bridge structure, which has been declared surplus as part of the ongoing Flynn Bridge Replacement project.

As the Township moves forward with construction of a new bridge at the Flynn Bridge site, the existing structure is being made available for sale as scrap metal only. The structure is offered strictly for its material/scrap value and not for any functional, structural, or reuse purpose. Prospective buyers should be aware they are purchasing scrap steel material, not a usable bridge structure.

Terms:

The structure is offered on an "as-is, where-is" basis.
The successful buyer will be fully responsible for arranging removal of the structure, including all associated costs, equipment, and labour.
The successful buyer is also responsible for obtaining any and all permits required for transporting the structure, including any oversize load or trucking permits.
The Township is not responsible for any damage incurred during removal or transport.
Priority will be given to Stone Mills residents, all other factors being reasonably comparable.

Offers will be evaluated based on total bid value. To be considered, submitted offers must exceed the net proceeds the Township could reasonably expect to receive by having the structure removed and sold directly to a scrap metal recycling company. The Township reserves the right to reject any or all offers, including if no submission meets this threshold.

Submission requirements:

Interested parties must submit their expression of interest in a sealed envelope, clearly marked "Flynn Bridge Scrap Structure — Expression of Interest", to the Township of Stone Mills Public Works Department by Monday, July 20th at 12:00 p.m.

Each sealed envelope must include the following information:

1. Name and contact information (phone number and email/mailing address)
2. Confirmation of Stone Mills residency, if applicable, for consideration under the priority criteria
3. Total bid amount (in Canadian dollars)
4. Proposed removal timeline
5. Signature confirming acceptance of "as-is, where-is" terms, including responsibility for removal and transportation permitting

Late submissions, unsealed submissions, or submissions missing required information may be disqualified at the Township's discretion.
