Stone Mills Leads Ontario with Innovative Modular Bridge Replacement

The Township of Stone Mills is proud to be featured on the front cover of the AORS Fall 2026 Newsletter being recognized as the first municipality in Ontario to adopt an innovative modular bridge technology to address a key local infrastructure need. 

The project reflects Stone Mills’ commitment to practical, forward-looking infrastructure solutions. In addition to reducing construction time and long-term maintenance needs, the steel bridge structure has a smaller carbon footprint than a conventional concrete bridge.

By adopting this new technology, Stone Mills is demonstrating how rural municipalities can use innovative approaches to maintain essential infrastructure, protect local connectivity and deliver value for residents.
