Quinte Conservation Issues Watershed Conditions Statement - Water Safety Due to Anticipated Large Amounts of Rainfall

Water Safety Statement

Quinte Conservation is advising residents of the potential for nuisance flooding due to expected rainfall and warming temperatures.

Weather Forecast: Weather forecasts for the Quinte Watershed predict 30-35 mm of rainfall in the southern portions of the watershed and Prince Edward County over the next few days. Areas north of Hwy 7 are expected to receive 20-25 mm of rainfall. Warm temperatures may exceed 10C over the weekend, leading to significant snowpack reductions south of HWY 7. Prince Edward County may lose most or all of its snowpack in the next 7 days.

From January 1 to March 31 of each year, you can purchase a license for $20.00. After March 31, licenses go up to $30.00. Dog tag licenses can be purchased from the following businesses located across the Township. 

  • Fast Freddy’s, 2068 County Road 1 & Main St., Newburgh
  • Kingston Humane Society, 1 Binnington Court, Kingston
  • McCormick’s Country Store, 2561 County Road 1, Camden East
  • Stone Mills Municipal Office, 4504 County Road 4 Centreville
  • Tamworth Hardware, 2 Concession Street, Tamworth
  • Yarker Lucky Dollar, 4255 County Road 6, Yarker
