Dog Licences

As a dog owner in Township of Stone Mills, you must licence your dog(s) each year according to By-law 2010-532 Being a By-law to provide for the Licensing of Dogs, the licensing of a kennel and to regulate dogs running at large.  Licensing your dog each year helps us find your dog if they go missing and keeps our family pets out of animal shelters.

From January 1 to March 31 of each year, you can purchase a licence for $15.00. After March 31, licenses go up to $25.00. Dog tag licenses can be purchased from the following businesses located across the Township.

• Kingston Humane Society, 1 Binnington Court, Kingston
• McCormick’s Country Store, 2561 County Road 1, Camden East
• Stone Mills Municipal Office, 4504 County Road 4 Centreville
• Tamworth Hardware, 2 Concession Street, Tamworth
• Yarker Lucky Dollar, 4255 County Road 6, Yarker

You can mail a completed Dog Tag Application to:

Please include payment by cheque and a self-addressed, stamped envelope so that we can mail your new dog tag back to you. We must receive your form at the Township Office before March 31 for you to get the discounted rate.

Lost dogs

Impounded dogs

Under By-law 2010-532 Being a By-law to provide for the licensing of dogs the owner of an impounded dog has five business days to recover the dog from the shelter. You must pay fees for the time the dog has been in the shelter along with the fees for any emergency veterinary medical care that was required.
