Facility and Asset Naming Policy

Naming Township facilities and assets can be a meaningful way to provide information and education and to encourage reflection on significant histories and values within the Township of Stone Mills. These assets contribute to civic pride, in their reflection of the location, geography and community in which they reside.

The purpose of this Facility and Assets Naming Policy is to capture the diversity of these assets, establish
consistency in the criteria used for naming, and formalize the selection process for greater continuity. Naming, renaming or dedication of a Township asset is a meaningful way to recognize Stone Mills' history, people and geography.

The Facility and Park Assets Naming Policy is the Township of Stone Mills commitment to ensuring asset naming is approached in an equitable and inclusive manner.
