Open Air Burning

All open air fires within the Township are regulated through By-law 2015-810. This includes camp fires, fire appliances such as chimineas, burn barrels and brush fires.

As per By-law 2015-810, the Township of Stone Mills DOES NOT issue burn permits.

Forest Fire Hazard and Burn Ban Restrictions

When restrictions are prevalent in the Forest Fire Region, those restrictions are also applied to the remaining portions of the Township. These limitations are put in place to mitigate the risk associated to the community and protect the regions from out of control fires.

Forest fire hazard conditions will be updated regularly on this site. Please use caution whenever burning.

When conditions warrant a burning ban in the Township absolutely no burning is allowed while the ban is in place. Notification on the burn ban will be posted on the Township of Stone Mills website, social media, and posted in locations around the municipality.
