Payment Options

Use your banking online or telephone services, or pay at the teller or ABM. Select bill payee (Stone Mills taxes) and input your 19 digit roll number for the account number (omit any spaces, dots, or dashes.).

Payment can be made at most financial institutions on or before the due date. Financial institutions may charge for this service.

Please be aware of your bank's processing times to ensure your payment is received on the due date.

If a Mortgage Company pays your taxes, it will show in the top right-hand corner of your tax bill. The tax bill will be sent to the mortgage company and a copy will be sent to you indicating "do not pay" on the bottom. 

The Township is not responsible for facilitating communication between the lender and the property owner. This is solely an arrangement between the lender and the property owner when it comes to the remittance of property taxes. It is the property owner's responsibility to ensure property taxes are paid.

Pre-authorized payments (PAP) are automatically debited from your bank account, which ensures property taxes are always paid on time. PAP options are as follows:

12 monthly Payments (15th or 30th Monthly)

Payments are withdrawn from your bank account and credited to your property tax account. The preauthorized payments run from January - December on the 15th or 30th monthly. January to June payments are based on 50% of the previous year’s levy, and July – December payments are adjusted to reflect any increase/decrease in the current years total levy.

Installment Due Date Payments

Payments are withdrawn from your bank account and credited to your property tax account. The preauthorized installment payment plan is withdrawn on their effective due date (4 annually). The interim and final tax bills showing the amount due and the installment due dates will be mailed.

Please Note

  • Property taxes cannot be past-due or in arrears
  • Unable to debit from U.S. accounts
  • Each roll number must be applied for on an individual basis
  • Applications are valid for succeeding years unless cancelled, in writing, a minimum of 10 working days in advance of the withdrawal by either you or the Township
  • The plan will be cancelled if two returned items in a year are received, NSF charges will apply
  • If a supplemental bill or a write-off bill is generated on your tax account please note this will not be adjusted on your PAP plan and you will need to make alternate arrangements for your payment or refund from those bills.

Failure to receive a tax bill does not excuse a taxpayer from the responsibility for payment nor relieve the liability of penalty for late payment.
